Portfolio of Services

Sales Tax Exemption - “Predominant Use Study” allows a manufacturer, master-metered apartment complex, nursing home, and some other types of facilities to become exempt from state sales tax on monthly electricity and natural gas purchases. For qualified customers, previously paid sales tax can be recouped.

Power Factor Correction - Eliminate costly Power Factor energy billing adjustments, which can range from 2-15% of the monthly electric bill. Most companies do not realize they are paying this fee because it is not a line item on the billing statement. Facility motors and other equipment often operate at a low Power Factor, which results in additional utility charges, overloaded power delivery equipment, and inefficient use of power. A well designed and implemented project will reduce/eliminate power factor charges.

Power Quality - Power Quality issues can cause equipment failures and equipment/process nuisance shutdowns, often costing many thousands of dollars. We assess the root cause of these issues, then recommend cost effective solutions which including grounding improvements, surge protection, power conditioning, uninterruptible power supplies, and harmonic filters.

Facility Energy Efficiency Audit - Perform an on-site facility audit to determine how the facility is currently operating, and what energy and operational savings opportunities are present for client consideration. A detailed written report of the current facility energy use by department, energy savings opportunities, and ENERGY STAR benchmarking for the facility.

Energy Efficiency Projects - Implement energy savings technologies such as lighting retrofits, HVAC upgrades, adjustable speed drives and other specific improvements, which will result in lower operating costs. Many projects will qualify for additional incentives and rebates.

Project Incentives - Identify and administer available government and utility incentive payments that will offset energy efficiency project costs for our customers.

Demand Response - Electric customers above 500-KW demand can often qualify for the demand response program. This allows customers to obtain payments from state power grid operators, to make their facility loads available to shed load in the event of a utility grid emergency notice.
